About Senior Move Guide

Last updated: March 2026

What we do

Senior Move Guide is a free resource for families helping an aging parent through one of the most difficult transitions of their lives: leaving a long-time home, downsizing decades of belongings, navigating assisted living decisions, and understanding the legal and financial paperwork that comes with it.

We do two things. First, we maintain a verified directory of NASMM-certified Senior Move Managers across the United States, professionals trained specifically to help older adults and their families manage the full arc of a senior relocation. Second, we publish practical, plain-language guides on the topics families need most: costs, legal planning, difficult conversations, estate sales, caregiving, and senior living options.

Who we are

Senior Move Guide is an independently operated website. We are not affiliated with NASMM, any senior living provider, or any moving company. We have no financial relationship with the professionals listed in our directory beyond the optional paid featured listing program described below.

Our editorial team includes writers with backgrounds in elder care, family caregiving, and consumer publishing. All guides and directory content are reviewed for factual accuracy before publication.

How we make money

Senior Move Guide is free to use for families. We generate revenue in two ways:

We do not accept payment to alter our editorial content, remove negative information, or guarantee listing approval.

Our standards

We take our responsibility seriously. The families using this site are often in a vulnerable moment, helping a parent who can no longer manage alone, grieving a loss, or navigating a crisis under time pressure. We do not take advantage of that moment.
