How We Vet Senior Move Managers

Last updated: August 2026

Every professional in the Senior Move Guide directory is a current or recent member of the National Association of Senior Move Managers (NASMM), the primary professional body for senior move management in the United States. Here is what that means, and what it does not mean.

What NASMM membership means

What NASMM certification means

Some professionals hold the Senior Move Manager-Certified (SMM-C) designation. Current requirements include coursework and assessments, at least 40 invoiced senior-move projects, application review, and ongoing continuing education. We display this credential only on profiles where current status was confirmed.

Some firms hold NASMM Accreditation or NASMM A+ Accreditation, which are organizational credentials requiring additional business standards review. These are also noted on profiles.

What our listing does not guarantee

We are a directory and information resource, not a licensing board. A listing or introduction from Senior Move Guide is not an endorsement or guarantee of service quality. Families should:

How listings are added

Our directory is built from NASMM's public membership data. We also accept corrections and updates from firms and readers. We do not charge for basic listings, and basic contact information is available directly to families.

Most records were collected in March 2026. Profiles that receive the most visitor activity are being checked again against NASMM's current public directory. A reviewed profile shows the verification month. If a current listing cannot be found, the profile says so rather than presenting membership as current.

How introduction requests are routed

Matching requests are available nationwide and use current, request-specific research. Public directory records are starting points for that research, not proof that a business is active, available, suitable, or currently affiliated with NASMM. We review official provider websites for senior move management services, service-area evidence, and a business email visibly published by the provider. When the directory does not supply a credible fit, the research may consider another business whose official website clearly offers senior move management or an equivalent senior relocation coordination service. We do not infer NASMM membership, SMM-C status, or another credential.

We use an AI-assisted research tool to compare public provider information. It receives the project area, timing, situation category, requested service categories, home status, and approximate home size. It does not receive the family's name, email address, phone number, street address, or free-text notes. Those details remain in our lead system and are shared only after providers are selected.

We route to no more than three providers and name the companies that actually received the family's details. Ordinary moving carriers, junk haulers, estate liquidators, referral agencies, and organizers are not treated as Senior Move Managers unless their official website clearly documents senior move management or equivalent transition coordination. If we do not identify a provider we can confidently email, the details are not shared and the family is directed to contact public directory listings directly. Providers do not pay to receive these requests, and payment does not affect routing order.
